13 days Post-Op

I've been a bit slack with the blog entries since I've been home. I left Mum & Dad's on Wednesday night & have been going very well. My bruising is almost completely gone. It doesn't feel like my swelling has changed a great deal in the past few days - since last Tuesday it has really slowed to a snails pace. But that's ok. I don't think I actually look like I'm swollen, but I can feel the pressure all over my face & it is still a bit sore to touch. My chin is still numb but at the same time quite painful! Sounds strange & I'm really not sure how it works, but there you go! I'm really hoping its nerves mending, but we'll see.

I have another appointment with my OS this afternoon, and with my Ortho tomorrow morning. I had dissolvable stitches & they are pretty much all gone (ok i pulled some out with the tweezers! - they were bugging me!!). My cheeks are much better, partcularly the RH cheek. The LH cheek developed a bubble thing over the last 2 days but seems like its going down now. My nose is pretty clear, but still feels like I've got a slight cold. I accidentally blew my nose yesterday because I forgot I wasn't supposed to do it for 3 weeks, but it was fine - no bleeding or anything. The pain is also much improved. I'm still taking Panadol a couple of times a day, but its not excruciating. It feels like a lot of the pain is due to the pressure of the splint, so I really can't wait to get that off.

Food-wise I'm not doing too badly - I've eaten fish pie, shepherds pie, pasta, poached egg on toast, lots of soggy weetbix & banana smoothies, and even hot dogs with soggy bits of the bun! I've been eating plenty of fruit - chopped up strawberries, bananas & yoghurt, fruit tubs, etc but I'm a little concerned about my vegie intake at the moment. I'm going to look around for some vegie recipes. I wish I could just eat a salad!

I'm getting lots of jobs done around the house & particularly weeding which is definitely going to take me the next few weeks! Ralphy is loving being inside although I think he finds it very tiring since he's used to sleeping in his kennel all day.
